As a licensed clinical psychologist I have experience helping people who are facing many different issues. In individual therapy I work with people who are struggling with depression, anxiety, post-traumatic stress disorder, panic attacks, obsessive compulsive disorder, and more. I work with women who have post-partum depression and people of all ages facing grief and loss.
I also enjoy working with couples, families and children. I have been married for 22 years and have many more years of study, so I bring a great many personal and clinical insights to couples work. It is never too early or too late to get help learning to communicate more effectively so don’t hesitate to make an appointment.
Working with children and teens is also something I enjoy. Depending upon the issue I think it’s important to work as part of a treatment team, involving the parents and even the school when appropriate. One unique aspect of my work is treating selective mutism, a disorder in which the child speaks normally at home but does not speak in certain situations (most often school). This is a great example of a situation where the parents and I would work together with your child’s teacher to develop a treatment plan to help your child overcome this struggle.
Whatever challenges you are facing, we will work together to find solutions that work for you.
